Dead Sea

The Dead Sea, sometimes called the “Salt Sea“, lies between Israel & Jordan. The Dead sea level is 420m or 1,400 ft below sea level and is the lowest place on Earth with an extraordinarily high level of salination. It’s more than eight times saltier than the average ocean! And because of this, it is possible to float, and there is no sea life as nothing can live.

The blue of the water is so colourful and surreal.

Before you head into the salty water, there is usually a bucket of black mud along the shoreline for your use. Scoop up the smooth, black mud, which is full of minerals and rub it all over your body.

Then enjoy a few minutes in the Dead Sea, relaxing and soaking up on the nutrients.

You will come out feeling rejuvenated.

Tips for Soaking in the Dead Sea

Soaking Time

Due to the high salt in the water, it’s can be very dehydrating, so soak in the sea for 10-15 minutes max. It doesn’t seem long but trust us; it’s more than enough time!

Beware of getting water in your eyes as it can momentarily blind you, as it is so salty and very painful. The lifeguards on duty will have water on hand to help rinse your eyes if needed.

Also, If you have any cuts anywhere on your body or just exfoliated, the water will make it sting. So be mindful of this before going into the water.

See the remnants of the salt on my back!
